Wild Ride

Life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived.

The Teaching

Here's the thing about wild rides: they're not accidents. They're invitations. I've been doing this work for three decades now, and I can tell you that every single person who comes to me during their most chaotic times is actually receiving the universe's most deep curriculum. Know what I mean?

Look, we spend so much energy trying to control our lives, planning every detail, mapping out our future like we're military strategists. But honestly? Life laughs at our plans. Not in a cruel way, but in this beautiful, cosmic way that says, "Hey, I've got something even better in store for you."

The Taoists understood this deeply. They talked about wu wei, which basically means flowing with the natural current instead of fighting against it. Think about a leaf in a river. It doesn't stress about where it's going. It doesn't try to swim upstream. It trusts the water to carry it exactly where it needs to be. Wild, right?

But here's what's interesting: we've been conditioned to see chaos as the enemy. We think if things aren't going according to plan, something's wrong. Truth is, chaos is just another word for change, and change is how we grow. Every twist and turn on your wild ride is actually recalibrating your soul's GPS.

I remember this client I had years ago. She came to me in tears because her entire life had fallen apart in six months. Lost her job, relationship ended, had to move back with her parents. She felt like she was failing at everything. But you know what happened? That breakdown became her breakthrough. She discovered her true calling as an artist, met her soulmate at a coffee shop near her parents' house, and started a business that now supports dozens of families. The wild ride wasn't punishing her. It was liberating her from a life that was too small for her spirit.

See, here's what we miss: the universe has an intelligence that's way beyond our logical minds. While we're busy trying to control outcomes, it's orchestrating symphonies of synchronicity. Those sudden detours? They're often course corrections steering us away from dead ends we couldn't see coming. Those unexpected challenges? They're strength training for muscles we didn't even know we had.

The trick isn't to stop the wild ride. That's impossible anyway, right? The trick is to learn how to enjoy it. To trust that even when you can't see the destination, the journey itself is sacred. Every loop-de-loop is teaching you something about resilience. Every unexpected turn is showing you parts of yourself you never knew existed.

But here's the thing that really gets me: the wild ride isn't just about external events. It's about the internal adventure too. Your emotions, your thoughts, your spiritual awakening... it's all part of this beautiful, messy, perfect chaos. Some days you feel like you've got it all figured out. Other days you're questioning everything you thought you knew. Both are exactly right.

Are you with me? This isn't about becoming passive or giving up your agency. It's about finding that sweet spot between effort and surrender. You still show up, you still make choices, you still follow your intuition. But you hold it all lightly. You remember that you're co-creating with forces much bigger and wiser than your individual self.

Seriously, think about every major breakthrough in your life. I bet if you look closely, it came through some kind of upheaval. Some period where everything felt uncertain and wild. That's not coincidence. That's how transformation works. The caterpillar doesn't gently ease into becoming a butterfly. It literally dissolves into soup first. Total chaos. And then? Wings.

Your wild ride isn't a detour from your path. It IS your path. Every twist, every turn, every moment when you think you might fly off the rails... it's all conspiring to deliver you to exactly where your soul needs to be. Trust the ride, my friend. It knows where it's going, even when you don't.

How to Embody This Teaching

Start your day by literally saying "Yes" out loud to whatever comes up. Not a passive resignation, but an active embrace. When your coffee spills, when traffic is crazy, when plans change... breathe and say "Yes, this too." Feel how different that is from fighting what's already happening.

Practice the art of improvisational living. You know how jazz musicians riff off each other without knowing where the music will go? Try that with your day. Leave spaces unplanned. Take different routes. Say yes to invitations that feel a little scary. Let yourself be surprised by your own life.

Create a "wild ride journal" where you track the unexpected things that happen and what gifts they bring. Notice how many times what seemed like a problem actually led to something beautiful. This isn't about positive thinking. It's about training your awareness to see the intelligence in the chaos.

When you feel the grip of control tightening, pause and ask: "What if this is exactly what I need right now?" Not because everything is perfect, but because resistance to what's already happening only adds suffering to the situation. You can still take action from a place of flow instead of fight.

Practice physical surrender too. Dance without choreography. Let your body move however it wants. Take baths where you completely let go. Walk in nature without destination. Your body knows how to surrender better than your mind does. Let it teach you.

When This Card Appears

When this card shows up, you're being called to release your white-knuckled grip on how you think things should unfold. Look, I get it. The current situation might feel chaotic or out of control, but that's exactly why this card appeared. You're in a sacred space of transformation, even if it doesn't feel sacred right now.

This card is saying trust the process, even when you can't see the destination. Especially when you can't see it. Those unexpected changes happening in your life? They're not random. They're redirections from a universe that can see further down the road than you can. What feels like chaos is actually your life force breaking you free from patterns that were keeping you stuck.

If you're in the middle of major changes or uncertainty, this card is your permission slip to stop fighting the current. You don't have to understand why things are happening the way they are. You just have to show up with curiosity instead of resistance. The wild ride isn't punishing you. It's preparing you for something you can't even imagine yet.

This is also about embracing your own wildness. Maybe you've been playing it too safe, too small, too controlled. Time to let your authentic self out to play. Take the risks that make your heart race. Follow the impulses that don't make logical sense but feel deeply true. Your soul is calling you into a bigger, bolder way of being.
