Hurricane , Embrace the wild storm within to uproot what no longer serves, surrendering into the fierce flow of transformation.

""I am the calm center that holds steady while life transforms around me.""
Look, I've been through some storms in my life. Real ones and metaphorical ones. You know what I learned? Fighting a hurricane is like trying to argue with the ocean. It's not going to listen, and you're going to get exhausted real fast.
Here's the thing about hurricanes - both the weather kind and the life kind. They're not actually trying to destroy you. I know that sounds crazy when your whole world feels like it's getting torn apart, but hear me out. Hurricanes are nature's way of redistributing energy, clearing out what's stagnant, making space for something new. Wild, right?
The Tao Te Ching talks about this beautifully. Water doesn't fight the rock - it flows around it, over it, through it. Eventually, the water wins, but not through force. Through persistence. Through acceptance. Through being what it is.
I remember sitting with a client once who'd lost her job, her marriage was falling apart, and her kid was struggling in school. All at the same time. She kept saying, 'I just need to get control of this situation.' And I looked at her and said, 'What if you don't? What if control isn't the point?'
Think about that. What if the hurricane isn't happening TO you, but FOR you? Not because you deserve punishment, but because life is asking you to let go of something that's been keeping you small. Seriously.
In Advaita Vedanta, there's this concept of non-resistance. It doesn't mean being passive or giving up. It means recognizing that resistance creates suffering. When you're in a hurricane, you don't stand outside arguing with the wind. You find shelter. You get still. You wait it out.
The Bhagavad Gita gets into this too. Arjuna's facing this massive battle, everything he thought he knew is crumbling, and he's paralyzed. Krishna doesn't tell him to avoid the chaos. He tells him to act from a place of inner stillness, to do what needs to be done without attachment to the outcome. Are you with me?
But here's what's interesting - and this is something I've seen over and over in my practice - the people who learn to find their center in the storm become unshakeable. Not because nothing ever disturbs them, but because they know how to return to their center. They know the difference between the weather outside and the sky that holds it all.
Truth is, you've got that eye of the storm inside you right now. It's not something you need to create or achieve. It's already there. It's that part of you that's been watching all your thoughts, all your emotions, all your experiences. It's been there through every hurricane you've ever weathered.
Honestly, some of the most grounded people I know have been through the worst storms. They've learned that their peace doesn't depend on circumstances being calm. They've learned that their strength isn't in controlling life, but in trusting it. Even when it looks absolutely chaotic.
The hurricane teaches us about impermanence too. No storm lasts forever. No matter how fierce, how overwhelming, how destructive it feels in the moment - it passes. Everything passes. The question is: what are you going to do while it's here?
You can fight it and exhaust yourself. You can hide and miss the lessons. Or you can find that still point within yourself and watch the miracle of your own resilience unfold. Because that's what happens when you stop resisting the hurricane. You discover you're not as fragile as you thought. You discover there's something in you that can't be broken.
When life feels like a hurricane, your practice is simple but not easy: become the eye of the storm. Start by literally getting still. Find a quiet space, sit down, and just breathe. Not trying to calm the storm outside, just finding your center within it.
Here's what I do when everything's falling apart: I put my hand on my heart and ask, 'What's still here? What can't be touched by this chaos?' Feel around for that part of you that's been watching all of this unfold. That's your eye of the storm.
Next, practice non-resistance. When you catch yourself fighting what's happening, pause. Say out loud: 'This is what's happening right now.' Not 'this shouldn't be happening' or 'I need to fix this.' Just acknowledgment. Truth is, acceptance doesn't mean you like it. It just means you stop exhausting yourself by arguing with reality.
Try this too: when the storm is raging, ask yourself, 'What is this hurricane trying to clear away?' Maybe it's old patterns, maybe it's relationships that have run their course, maybe it's ways of thinking that don't serve you anymore. Don't judge it, just get curious.
And here's something powerful - practice gratitude for your resilience. You've survived every storm so far. Every single one. That's not luck, that's strength. Honor that. Thank your body for carrying you through. Thank your spirit for not breaking. You're stronger than you know.
When Hurricane appears, you're in the middle of major upheaval, and the universe is asking you to find a completely different way of being with chaos. This isn't about surviving until things get back to normal. This is about discovering that you don't need normal to be okay.
Something significant is being cleared away in your life right now. Could be external circumstances, could be internal patterns, could be both. The hurricane energy is asking you to stop trying to control the process and start trusting it instead. I know that's terrifying, but here's the thing - you're being prepared for something new, and that preparation requires space.
This card often shows up when people are experiencing multiple life changes at once. Job shifts, relationship changes, health challenges, family dynamics - it's like everything's moving at the same time. If this resonates, know that this intensity has a purpose. You're being asked to let go at a deeper level than ever before.
The hurricane is also calling you home to your own inner stability. You've been looking for security in things that are naturally temporary, and life is showing you where your real strength lives. It's not out there in your circumstances. It's in here, in your capacity to remain centered no matter what's swirling around you.
Trust the process, even when it looks like destruction. Especially then. Something beautiful is trying to be born through this chaos, and your job is to stay present for the birth. Are you ready?
What in my life feels like it's in hurricane-force winds right now, and what am I trying to control that might be better surrendered?
When I imagine myself as the eye of the storm, what does that stillness feel like in my body and heart?
What might this chaos be clearing away to make space for something new in my life?
