The Art of Letting Go

Lester Levenson's Sedona MethodRelease & Be Free

A simple, powerful technique to release painful emotions, limiting beliefs, and everything that holds you back from your natural state of peace and joy.

The Story of Lester Levenson

The releasing technique that changed spiritual practice

In 1952, Lester Levenson was a successful physicist and businessman in New York City. At 42, he had achieved everything society said would make him happy - money, success, relationships. Yet he was deeply unhappy, and his doctors sent him home to die after his second heart attack.

Given just months to live, Lester began an intense period of self-inquiry. He discovered something remarkable: all his suffering came from his own feelings and thoughts - and he could let them go.

Over three months, Lester systematically released every negative feeling, every limiting belief, every attachment. His health completely restored. He lived another 42 years in a state of profound peace and joy, teaching others the simple technique he had discovered.

"Your happiness equates to your capacity to love. And conversely, all your misery equates to your need to be loved."

- Lester Levenson

"The only limitations you have are the ones that you accept."

- Lester Levenson

"All unhappiness is caused by our trying to be limited, to be an ego. The more we are our Self, the happier we are."

- Lester Levenson

The Three Releasing Questions

These simple questions unlock your natural ability to let go

1

Could you let it go?

This question asks if it's possible. Not if you will, just if you could. The answer is always yes - you have the ability to release any feeling.

2

Would you let it go?

This asks about your willingness. Would you rather hold onto this feeling, or be free? There's no wrong answer - just honest inquiry.

3

When?

If you could and would let it go, when would you do it? Why not now? This question invites immediate release.

My 6-Step Connect & Release Protocol

1

NAME IT

What the fuck am I actually feeling? Say it out loud: Rage? Grief? Shame? Terror? Heartbreak? Don't name the trigger - name the emotion.

2

FEEL IT COMPLETELY

Drop into your body - where does this live? Feel it as pure energy: temperature, texture, weight, color, movement. No stories, just sensation.

3

AMPLIFY IT

Imagine the worst possible version. Let your heart break wider. Make it catastrophic - go bigger, not smaller. This is extraction, not masochism.

4

GO DEEPER

Keep asking: 'Can I feel this more intensely?' Look for more tears. What's underneath? Rage - Grief - Terror - Shame - Heartbreak - Truth. There is ALWAYS another layer.

5

STAY PRESENT

What am I feeling NOW (not 30 seconds ago)? Notice transformation happening on its own. Track the shifts without forcing. The emotion transforms when fully experienced.

6

RELEASE

You don't 'let it go' - it goes because you finally let yourself HAVE it. Full possession creates natural release. You'll know it's released when: charge neutralizes, body softens, story loses grip. This isn't one-and-done - major wounds require multiple rounds.

How to Practice the Sedona Method

Follow these steps whenever you notice an uncomfortable feeling

Visit TheSedonaMethod.com for courses, certifications, and more.

Step 1: Notice the Feeling

Become aware of what you're feeling right now. Name it if you can - fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, frustration. Don't judge it, just notice it.

Tip: Place your attention on the feeling itself, not the story about why you feel this way.

Step 2: Welcome It

Allow the feeling to be there. Don't resist it or try to change it. Just let it be present. This is the opposite of what we usually do - and it's the key to releasing.

Tip: Say to yourself: 'I allow this feeling to be here. I welcome it.'

Step 3: Ask the Questions

Ask yourself the three questions: Could I let this go? Would I let this go? When? Answer honestly - even 'no' moves energy.

Tip: The questions work whether you answer yes or no. They're designed to shift your relationship with the feeling.

Step 4: Release

Let the feeling go. Imagine it dissolving, floating away, or simply evaporating. You might feel a physical release - a sigh, relaxation, lightness.

Tip: Releasing is like dropping a pen. You don't have to do anything - just stop holding on.

Step 5: Repeat

Check in again. Is there more of that feeling? Another layer? Keep releasing until you feel clear. Some feelings release instantly; others need multiple rounds.

Tip: There's no limit to how much you can release. Keep going until you feel genuinely free.
