Shankara Karmic Transformation

You Are Not Your Patterns. You Are What Has Been Carrying Them.

The Karmic Mapping Session is a structured spiritual process for identifying, naming, and beginning the release of the karmic positions that have been organizing your life - across this lifetime, your lineage, and beyond.

A clear, compassionate space to see the architecture beneath the pattern.

The work

This Is Not a Reading.

A reading offers insight. A Karmic Mapping Session offers a map. There is a difference between understanding a pattern and seeing the full architecture of the karmic position that has been generating it - where it came from, what role it asked you to play, what it cost you, what brilliant adaptation it was in its original context, and what becomes possible when it begins to release its authority over your choices.

Paul Wagner has spent thirty years in direct practice, devotional study, and work with thousands of people across retreats, sessions, and ceremonies. From that practice he developed the Shankara Karmic Transformation framework - a system of 200 named karmic positions across seven domains of human life, rooted in the ancient Sanskrit teachings of samskara and vasana, and the Advaita Vedanta understanding of the Self beneath all positions.

In a Karmic Mapping Session Paul works with you to identify which positions are currently active and operative in your life, map the relationship between your Failed Positions and your Power Positions, and begin the honest process of release.

The framework

Two Kinds of Karmic Positions

The original collapse

Failed Positions

A Failed Position is the role the soul attempted within a system that could not hold it - daughter to a mother who could not receive love, devoted seeker within a tradition that weaponized shame, romantic partner to someone who required rescuing. The role was genuine. The attempt was real. The system was insufficient. The position collapsed, but its architecture remained - continuing to govern behavior, magnetize circumstances, and organize a life from the shadows.

The adaptive response

Power Positions

A Power Position is the adaptive identity the soul constructed to survive or transcend the original collapse - the endlessly capable one, the emotionally invulnerable one, the devoted helper, the one who stayed small so others could feel large. These positions carry real gifts and real costs. They are not the enemy. They were brilliant responses to impossible conditions. But they too are compressed identities, not the Self. The work is not to destroy them. It is to inhabit them as choices rather than being commanded by them.

Almost every Power Position is a direct adaptive response to a specific Failed Position. Seeing the pair is where the real architecture becomes visible - and where genuine release becomes possible.

How a Karmic Mapping Session Works.

  1. 1

    Arrival and Attunement

You are invited to drop beneath the social self you walked in wearing and become honest about what is actually present. Paul listens not only to words but to what is underneath them - the body language, the emotional charge, the positions that announce themselves before you have named them.

  2. 2

    Position Identification

Drawing from the Shankara Karmic Transformation framework, Paul begins naming the positions that appear to be active in your life. This is not guessing and it is not performance. It is a trained perceptive process in which a named position is offered and your response - the recognition, the tears, the resistance, the relief - confirms or adjusts the map.

  3. 3

    Pairing and Mapping

Once the active positions have been identified, Paul maps the relationship between your Failed Positions and your Power Positions. Seeing the pair reveals not just what you are carrying but why the carrying made brilliant sense at the time - and what becomes available when it no longer has to.

  4. 4

    Initial Release and Integration

Using the Sedona Method, the Forensic Forgiveness Connect and Release process, mantra, prayer, and the honest witnessing of what has been named, the session moves from identification toward the first loosening. You leave with a clear map, a named set of active positions, and a practical path forward.

The samskara teaching

What We Emanate

The ancient Sanskrit teaching of samskara describes an impression - a groove worn into consciousness by unfinished experience, unresolved identification, or the residue of prior incarnations carried forward into this one. The sages understood that these impressions do not simply sit passively inside us. They emanate. They broadcast. They organize the field around us so that the life we are living reflects the karmic architecture we are carrying, often before we have made a single conscious choice about it.

When a karmic position releases, something else becomes available. The ancient teaching calls this dharma - the soul's authentic expression, its genuine nature, the gifts and capacities that were always present but could not breathe freely because so much energy was consumed in sustaining the karmic architecture.

This is what the release is for. Not relief alone. The restoration of dharma.

A path, not a promise

The Four Stages of Liberation.

  1. 01

    Healing

Acknowledging what actually happened. Naming the position. Feeling what was compressed. Beginning the release.

  2. 02

    Transformation

Understanding how the position shaped the life - relationships, choices, beliefs, body. Seeing the lineage it came from and the karma it has been generating.

  3. 03

    Freedom from the Past

The position no longer commands behavior from the shadows. The past is recognized as a canceled check. New choices become available.

  4. 04

    Liberation

The soul rests in its own nature. Identification with positions loosens. What remains is clear, responsive, loving awareness - sovereign, grounded, and free.

A direct word

An Honest Word About What This Work Can and Cannot Do.

Paul's spiritual perspective is that karmic work may unfold across an ongoing lifetime of sincere practice. Some impressions can feel deeply embedded, particularly where people understand them through lineage or prior-incarnation beliefs. This is not failure. It is the nature of a vast karmic inheritance being met with genuine love. Each period of honest work can make room for the next movement of liberation; nothing need be wasted.

Karmic Mapping is a spiritual and reflective modality. It works most powerfully alongside appropriate clinical, medical, or psychological support where that support is needed. It does not replace therapy, medical care, or crisis support. If you are in immediate danger, please seek appropriate help before beginning this work.
