At the survival floors, karma is a sledgehammer. At the spiritual floors, it is a whisper. And at the highest floors, it dissolves entirely into the silence from which it came.

The Map
In my 108-floor dimensional mapping system for consciousness - detailed fully in The Electric Rose - karma operates differently at each tier. This is not theoretical. It is observable in readings, in my own practice, and in the trajectory of every serious seeker I have ever worked with.
At the lowest floors - the survival tier, roughly floors 1 through 15 - karma is dense, physical, and immediate. It manifests as health crises, financial emergencies, physical danger, and the raw struggle to stay alive. The karma here is heavy. It demands attention through the body. You cannot spiritualize your way past it. You have to address the physical reality first.
At the emotional tier - floors 15 through 35 - karma becomes relational and cyclical. This is where the relationship patterns live. The abandonment loops, the control dynamics, the enmeshment patterns. The karma here is felt as emotion - grief, rage, shame, longing. It demands attention through the heart.
The Middle Floors
At the mental tier - floors 35 through 55 - karma becomes ideological. It manifests as rigid beliefs, identity structures, and the stories you tell yourself about who you are and how the world works. The karma here is subtle - it does not feel like suffering. It feels like truth. And that is what makes it so difficult to release.
The person at floor 40 who is absolutely certain that their spiritual framework is the correct one? That certainty is karma. The person at floor 45 who has built an entire identity around being a healer or a teacher? That identity is karma. The person at floor 50 who has transcended emotion and lives in a pristine mental clarity that feels like enlightenment? That clarity is karma too - the karma of the mind mistaking itself for awareness.
At the spiritual tier - floors 55 through 85 - karma becomes almost invisible. It manifests as subtle preferences, residual attachments to spiritual experiences, and the last traces of individual identity. The karma here is so refined that most people cannot perceive it. It takes a teacher or a very advanced practice to even identify what needs to be released.
The Highest Floors
At floors 85 through 108, karma dissolves. Not because it is suppressed or transcended, but because the awareness at these floors is so vast that karma cannot maintain its structure. It is like trying to hold a shape in water - the medium is too fluid, too open, too undifferentiated to support the rigidity that karma requires.
This is what the sages mean by liberation. Not the absence of karma but the presence of an awareness so complete that karma arises and dissolves in the same moment, without leaving a trace. The river still flows but it no longer carves channels. The wind still blows but it no longer shapes the landscape.
I want to be honest: I have not stabilized at these floors. I have visited them - in meditation, in the presence of my teacher, in moments of grace that arrived unbidden. But stabilization at these levels is the work of a lifetime, possibly many lifetimes. What I can tell you is that even visiting these floors - even tasting that freedom for a moment - changes everything about how you relate to karma at every other level.
Practical Implications
Understanding how karma maps to consciousness has immediate practical value. It tells you what kind of work you need to be doing right now.
If your karma is manifesting primarily as physical and financial crisis, you need survival-level practices: grounding, stabilization, practical support, and body-based work. Meditation alone will not help. You need to address the physical reality.
If your karma is manifesting as relational patterns and emotional cycles, you need heart-level practices: ceremony, somatic processing, conscious relationship work, and grief rituals. Intellectual understanding alone will not help. You need to feel.
If your karma is manifesting as rigid beliefs and identity structures, you need mind-level practices: self-inquiry, meditation, study with a teacher who can see your blind spots, and the willingness to be completely wrong about everything you think you know.
And if your karma is manifesting as subtle spiritual attachments - the attachment to being spiritual, to being awake, to being special - you need the most advanced practice of all: the willingness to let go of the spiritual identity itself and rest in the ordinary, unglamorous, unadorned awareness that was always there before you started seeking.
Wherever you are on the map, the work is the same: feel what is present, release what is ready, and trust the process. The floors take care of themselves when you take care of the karma.
