Let's cut the crap. This "WOKE" nonsense? It's mostly a self-congratulatory circle jerk, another symptom of the "It's Okay To Be A Narcissist" epidemic. Everyone with a bleeding heart or a half-baked conspiracy theory is slapping on the "WOKE" label. It's a trend. It means precisely jack shit.

Ask yourself, honestly:

  • Do you get "WOKE" by sniffing out hashtags and taglines that just feed your fear?
  • Does awakening come from using those fears to concoct poorly baked conspiracy theories that then define your pathetic existence?
  • Isn't it possible that a flubbed line in an audio file is just that ... a mistake, not some masked secret plot to put a chip in your dick?
  • Is being "WOKE" all about seeing society and business as perpetually "out to get" you?
  • Is a "WOKER" someone who hates the government and imagines the worst of everyone in it?
  • Is it about despising anyone who doesn't think exactly like you?
  • Or, is it possible that most "WOKERS" are just lazy, illiterate lovers of fantasy?

Here's some conspiracy theories for you:

"WOKERS" don't have library cards because reading is too much damn effort.

"TRUMP-PETS" can't fathom a benevolent, peaceful world because they aren't benevolent, peaceful people. They literally can't see what they don't embody. It's not even their fault ~ when your inner world is chaotic, angry, fearful, that becomes your lens for everything. You project your shit onto the world and call it reality. These folks look at cooperation and see weakness. They see kindness and assume someone's getting played. Know what I mean? Their worldview is so steeped in scarcity and competition that genuine peace looks like naive bullshit to them. They can't imagine it because they've never lived it.

"QANONers" cling to their fantasy opinions and ideologies over thousands of years of collective training, education, and research. Why? Because they've trained themselves to be overreactive, presumptuous, victim-minded, and fearful. It's an addiction. As you think, so you become. But here's the thing ~ this isn't just about conspiracy nuts. We all do this shit to some degree. We cherry-pick evidence that confirms what we already believe and dismiss anything that challenges our worldview. The human brain loves being right more than being accurate. Think about that. These folks have literally rewired their neural pathways to seek out threat and persecution at every turn. Once you train your mind to see enemies everywhere, guess what you find? Enemies everywhere. The pattern becomes self-reinforcing, like a drug. Each new "proof" of the conspiracy gives them a hit of righteous certainty.

If you have been in a relationship with a narcissist, Psychopath Free will help you understand what happened and reclaim your reality. This isn't just some self-help bullshit. I'm talking about that gut-wrenching moment when you realize you've been living in someone else's twisted version of reality for months or years. The book breaks down the manipulation tactics that leave you questioning your own sanity - gaslighting, love bombing, the silent treatment. All that shit that makes you feel like you're going crazy. Know what I mean? It's like having a map when you've been lost in the dark for way too long. *(paid link)*

All this garbage thrives in low IQ, low emotional intelligence (EQ), and non-empathic people.

Empathy is EVERYTHING. Get it through your thick skull.

Alas...

To be TRULY WOKE, AWAKE, or AWAKENED, it's about understanding who you are, where you are, where you're going, and who's going with you. It's about knowing your divinity and depth. It's about stripping away the bullshit layers of assumptions and learning to access your core, authentic nature. That's the real work. And let me tell you, it's harder than posting the right memes or using the right buzzwords. Most people think they're awake because they can recite some spiritual talking points or because they've read a few books. But real awakening? It means sitting with the uncomfortable truth of who you actually are when nobody's watching. It means catching yourself in your own lies ~ the ones you tell yourself about why you do what you do. Are you with me? This isn't about collecting spiritual merit badges or impressing anyone with your consciousness level. It's about getting brutally honest with yourself and doing the messy, unglamorous work of becoming real.

Being WOKE is about responsibility, honest research, forgiveness, proactive living, and respecting people 100 times more brilliant and better trained than you. You don't tell your mechanic, "Nah, it's not that hose. My car blew up because of the Republicans." You listen to the expert. Apply that logic to your life. But here's where most people screw this up ~ they cherry-pick which experts to trust based on what feels good to believe. They'll defer to their doctor about heart surgery but completely ignore climate scientists because the data makes them uncomfortable. Think about that. Real awakeness means sitting with information that pisses you off, that challenges your identity, that makes you look like an ass for what you believed yesterday. It's not about being right. It's about being willing to be wrong, publicly, and changing course when the evidence demands it.

WOKE IS:

  • Knowing you might not have been told the whole truth, while also acknowledging your own damn limitations.
  • Respecting the world's anomalies and complexities, some so deeply embedded they're impossible to eradicate without global, life-ending war.
  • Knowing your spirit and how you relate is more important than your protests. Be peaceful, be aware, *then* protest. Otherwise, you're just an idiot waving a banner you know nothing about.
  • Being able to fathom that this life is a temporary metaphor meant to educate, enthuse, and enlighten.
  • Understanding it's all a mess because it's supposed to be a mess. Internal and external evolution doesn't happen without chaos.
  • Understanding your pain, your inability to forgive, and your refusal to empathize with the less fortunate are far worse than blaming others for their invisible friends, obsessions, insanity, or lack of education.
  • ALL ABOUT forgiving everything, detaching from the madness, and refusing to feed it.
  • ALL ABOUT focusing on expanding your deepest aspects and learning to truly nurture yourself.

Being Woke is not about constantly reacting to your government and those who oppose your party of choice. Look, I get it - the news cycle makes everything feel urgent as hell. Every tweet, every policy announcement, every damn thing your least favorite politician says feels like the end of democracy. But here's the thing: if you're spending all your mental energy just bouncing off whatever bullshit is trending today, you're not awake. You're reactive. You're letting external chaos dictate your internal state, which is exactly what keeps you asleep. Real wakefulness? That comes from developing the kind of awareness that doesn't get yanked around by every political drama or manufactured outrage. Think about that. Are you responding from wisdom or just reacting from fear?

Being Woke is about being coherent enough to do your goddamn research so you can defend your position with facts, not some contrived, manipulated, twisted ideology based on father-projection, charisma, fantasy, and fear. Look, I see it everywhere ~ people throwing around "woke" like confetti at a parade, but when you press them on specifics? Silence. Or worse, they regurgitate whatever their favorite influencer said last week without checking if it's even true. Real awakeness means you can trace your beliefs back to actual evidence, not just emotional reactions or tribal loyalty. You've done the homework. You've sat with uncomfortable questions. You've changed your mind when the facts demanded it, even when it hurt your ego. That's the difference between being truly conscious and just being another echo in the chamber. Explore more in our spiritual awakening guide.

Rose quartz is the stone of unconditional love ~ keep one close when you are doing heart work. I'm not talking about wearing it like some spiritual fashion statement. I mean actually working on your shit. The stuff that makes you defensive. The patterns that keep you stuck in the same relationship drama over and over. Rose quartz doesn't magically fix anything, but it holds space for the messy work of loving yourself enough to change. Think about that. *(paid link)*

Being truly AWAKE is not about falling off your bike and blaming 5G or Bill Gates.

Being Woke is about thinking clearly, free from the influence of some trending movement or outdated religion. It's cutting through the bullshit. All of it. The stuff your parents told you was true because their parents told them. The stuff your social media feed insists you should believe this week. The stuff that sounds righteous but falls apart when you actually examine it. Think about that. Real wokeness isn't about picking the right team or using the right buzzwords. It's about developing the guts to question everything ~ including your own assumptions ~ and sitting with the uncomfortable truth that most of what we think we know is just inherited programming. Are you with me? It's messy work, and it pisses people off because suddenly you're not following their script anymore.

Being Woke is not about endlessly complaining on social media to self-validate your laziness and poorly researched addiction. Look, I get it ~ posting outrage feels productive. It scratches that itch that says you're doing something meaningful. But here's the harsh truth: if your activism consists mainly of scrolling through feeds, getting triggered, and firing off hot takes to your echo chamber... you're not woke. You're just another consumer in the outrage economy. Real consciousness requires uncomfortable self-examination, not just pointing fingers at everyone else's blind spots while ignoring your own. Are you with me? Paul explores this deeply in The Electric Rose.

It's certainly not about spewing hate at every opponent of your temporary, imagined identity and belief system. Your identity and beliefs are temporary. They mean NOTHING. Stay with me here. It's all flawed. It's all vapor. The conservative who pisses you off today? He was probably a liberal twenty years ago. The progressive activist screaming on Twitter? Give her fifteen years and three life changes - she might be selling insurance in the suburbs. We cling to these positions like they're carved in stone, but they're written in sand during high tide. Every belief you hold sacred right now, every cause that makes your blood boil - it's just another costume you're wearing. And costumes get dirty. They wear out. You outgrow them. The faster you realize this, the less energy you'll waste defending shit that doesn't actually define who you are.

I remember sitting in a dim room in an ashram, my body trembling uncontrollably from a somatic release practice we’d just done. The shaking felt like a freight train ripping through years of tight, unspoken grief. Amma’s presence was quiet but undeniable, and I realized then that being "woke" isn’t about shouting your pain into the void but about sitting with it raw, unguarded, until the nervous system softens on its own terms. Years ago, I had a client come to me convinced that every misstep in their life was orchestrated by some shadowy force out to get them. After 10,000 readings, I’ve learned that most of the demons people chase are just the body’s cry for safety and belonging. I worked with their breath and nervous system—not their conspiracy theories—and once the panic faded, real clarity broke through. That’s when true awakening flickers... not in the noise but in the still, shaking quiet that follows.

The idea here is simple:

Stop fear-mongering. That's what small-minded people do when they can't imagine better outcomes. Fear gives them the illusion of control. Think about that. When you can't solve problems, you default to scaring people about them instead. Using fear as a response is a self-limiting habit, a low-level coping mechanism for people with low IQs and devolved emotional intelligence. I've watched this play out countless times ~ someone faces uncertainty, can't handle the complexity, so they retreat into worst-case scenarios and apocalyptic thinking. It's mental laziness disguised as wisdom. Are you with me? Fear-based thinking shuts down creativity, kills innovation, and keeps you stuck in reactive patterns that solve absolutely nothing.

Lion's mane mushroom is impressive for cognitive clarity and neuroplasticity. *(paid link)*

Improve and evolve your ideology until it evaporates. It's worthless to you because it's not based on truth. It's based on the family, religion, and society you were born into. It's based on contrived, self-serving ideas passed down from generations of codependent relating. Think about that. Every single belief you hold dear? Probably inherited bullshit designed to keep someone else comfortable. Your parents' fears became your moral code. Your culture's limitations became your worldview. And you've been defending these borrowed thoughts like they're sacred truth when they're just old programming running on autopilot. The real awakening isn't adopting better ideologies ~ it's watching all ideologies dissolve when you stop needing them to feel safe in the world.

Your ideology and belief system are mostly born from ego, media taglines, and fear. Ditch them.

The truth is far easier, simpler, and more allowing.

Being Woke means you're seeking to understand that Eternal Consciousness includes every aspect of creation. Every damn thing. The beautiful stuff, sure, but also the ugly, twisted, seemingly fucked up parts that make you want to scream or hide under a blanket. It will work itself out, even if it's bumpy and horrible at times. Think about that. The consciousness that flows through a saint is the same one moving through a serial killer ~ it's all part of the same cosmic soup, whether we like it or not. This doesn't mean you become passive or stop caring about justice. It means you stop pretending you can see the whole picture from your tiny human vantage point. Stay with me here. When you truly get this, when it hits you in the gut, you realize that fighting against reality is like punching the ocean. The waves keep coming anyway.

How To Be Truly Woke

If it’s part of consciousness, it’s part of you.

Just because something is outside you and uglier than you, doesn't mean it doesn't deserve the space it needs to work itself out. Unless darkness steps forward, it cannot achieve the light. So if something horrible is happening, accept it, just as you would something positive. It's all the same. Even darkness has a womb filled with light. Think about that for a second ~ we spend so much energy pushing away the shit we don't want to see, but that resistance? It's what keeps us stuck. I'm not saying roll over and take abuse or ignore injustice. I'm saying stop pretending you're separate from the mess. You're in it. We all are. The moment you accept that ugly reality, you can actually start working with it instead of against it. Being WOKE is about owning your position in life and working with reality to improve it, helping where and when you can. Not from some high horse of moral superiority, but from the trenches where real change happens.

Being WOKE is about peacefully protesting, not causing damage.

Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now remains one of the most important spiritual books of our time. *(paid link)* Look, I don't throw around superlatives lightly. But this book cuts through the spiritual bullshit like a hot knife through butter. Tolle doesn't give you flowery metaphors or mystical nonsense ~ he gives you the straight dope on consciousness. The guy had his awakening on a park bench, for Christ's sake. No ashram, no guru, no special technique. Just raw presence meeting raw suffering until something shifted completely. Think about that. Here's someone who was suicidal, completely lost, and then boom ~ awareness itself became his teacher. That's what makes this work so damn powerful. He's not selling you some ancient wisdom he learned from a Himalayan master. He's sharing what literally saved his life in the most ordinary setting imaginable. A fucking park bench became his cathedral.

Being WOKE is loving every color and living Being in all of creation, feeling their pain to the point of knowing it. Not just intellectually understanding someone's struggle ~ actually feeling it in your bones, in your gut, until their hurt becomes part of your own damn experience. Think about that. When you see someone suffering and your first instinct is to fix them or give advice, you're not woke yet. You're still protecting yourself from really feeling what they're going through. True woke means dropping the armor. Letting their reality hit you without immediately scrambling to make sense of it or solve it. It's uncomfortable as hell, which is why most people stay surface-level with their compassion.

Being WOKE is not about guilting or shaming yourself and others; it's about working to rid the world of these things. Seriously. The moment you turn "wokeness" into a weapon to beat people up ~ including yourself ~ you've missed the whole fucking point. Real awakening isn't performative guilt. It's not about who can signal harder or shame louder. Think about that. When you're actually awake, you see suffering clearly and you work to end it, not create more of it through judgment and moral posturing. The world has enough pain without adding your righteousness to the pile. You might also find insight in The Transcendental Meditation Puja: Breaking the Seal on ....

Being truly awake is knowing that all your anger is about you and your deficiencies. (Well, except with banks, insurance companies, and military spending. You can be fuck-all, crazy angry about all that!) This is hard to swallow because we love our righteous fury. We get high off being the victim. But here's the thing ~ when you're genuinely conscious, you realize that your rage at your neighbor's politics or your ex's bullshit is just you projecting your own unhealed wounds onto the world. The banks stealing your house? That's different. That's actual theft. But Dave from accounting who won't shut up about his CrossFit routine? That's your problem, not his. You might also find insight in How Conspiracy Theories Break The Brain, Ruin Relationshi....

If you want to be awakened and truly WOKE: work on yourself, improve your attitude, become more loving, deepen your empathy for humankind and suffering, and realize that this reality is nothing but a tiny leaf twirling in the wind. It's here and then it's gone. So are we. But here's the kicker ~ most people want to skip the hard work and jump straight to enlightened proclamations on social media. They want the spiritual street cred without doing the actual fucking work. You know what I mean? Real awakening isn't posting quotes about consciousness while treating your barista like shit. It's not lecturing others about compassion while harboring resentment toward your ex. Embrace this fleeting existence with open eyes and a compassionate heart. Every word. Start with the person in the mirror. Are you with me? The truth of your being awaits, beyond the noise and the nonsense. If this hits home, consider an spiritual coaching.
